National Lipstick Day – My Top Faves

National Lipstick Day, you say? Why yes – I can dig it. Not that I actually need a national day to don some highly pigmented pop of color on these soup coolers of mine! I love to paint the pout, no matter what the day. But to celebrate when the rest of the world deems it necessary, let’s talk lip paint! In today’s post, I am chatting about a few of my favorite picks for this years day to celebrate the boca – our lips!

First up is the brand Lip Bar. In fact, in honor of the day they are having a buy one, get one free sale. They have some amazing liquid paints from subtle nudes to colors that wow. What are my faves? Let’s see… I love Haute Mess, Savage, and Rebel to name a few. Why not check them out and see if anything fits your fancy. They average around $13 each.

Up next is Too Faced Cosmetics. When I used to work for Sephora, I loved to rock a shade of red from their liquid lipstick line called “Lady Balls.” The name alone always made my customers laugh. However, the shad is nothing to giggle at. It’s among one of my top reds and I will gladly spend the $20 to keep it in my kit. Another honorable mention is the high-shine meted latex lip in Bite Me. Have fun with these two!

Coming up third is still my old faithful, Ruby Woo, by MAC. I know, I know – with so many new brands why would I go to a throwback like Ruby Woo? Because it’s tried and true. Faithful. And sometimes in a world where Covid exists, I need to know something has my back. And that, my friends, is Ruby Woo. It just is what it is.

And who can round out my quick grab list? I’m going to go with NYX soft matte lip creams! I love these things. They are super inexpensive and always available in a local beauty supply or CVS. My favorite shades are Dubai and Chai. I tend to stick with the nude family in this line and I love how the finish seems to compliment all skin tones.
