Banter & Bourbon – New Release!

It’s finally here! Banter & Bourbon. And when I say finally, I do mean finally! It has been 20 years since I released my first collection of poetry, When Paper Met Pen, in 2000. I remember it clearly – the fresh smell of newly printed pages, flipping through them all and listening to the sound they made jumping from poem to poem. It was amazing, all those years ago, looking at something I created in the flesh. And ever since then, I’ve wanted to re-create the moment.

I wanted to create a collection that I could be proud of, that would give due honor to the years of creativity and love affair with words, to provide my readers and fellow fans of the written and the spoken with pieces they could finally read and not just listen to as I graced a stage, eagerly and barefoot. I was waiting for this moment. And it’s finally arrived.

Banter & Bourbon – more than just poetry

Banter & Bourbon is me. The grown-up me. The me who has loved and lost and celebrated and mourned and won and failed and found a way to keep going. Poetry does not discriminate. It requires to be felt regardless of the emotion, no matter the time. So even though it’s been a long time coming, over the last 20 years I never truly stopped writing. Everything, of course, wasn’t for public consumption – but a few pieces here and there made it to light. And it’s that curated collection that fill the covers of Banter & Bourbon.

Some of my absolute favorites are included in this book: Teal, Stupid, Naked Before Him… When I scroll down the list of pieces I’ve written and performed over the years, I feel fulfilled and ready to leave the spoken word scene fat and happy. I know that I’ll always write – I mean I do have a blog – but I also know that there are a ton of other things I’d like to focus on as life grows on. So this is my tie it in a bow and seal it with a kiss gift from me to me, and then from me to you.

From me to you…

I pray that you receive it well, and read it over and over. As of now, I’m releasing it in an eBook format that can easily be read electronically or even printed out. And who knows, maybe later I’ll offer it in a soft or hardback edition. The pre-sale pricing will last until August 21st at which everyone who purchased will receive their personal copy via email. After that date, the original pricing will be in effect and all books will be available for immediate download.

Thank you lovelees for rocking with me, whether you’ve been here for the past 20 years, or just found me yesterday. I truly appreciate each member of my tribe, and we have so much more coming soon.
