The Art of the Egg Chair

Every now and then, every so often, there is a “thing” that turns heads and makes waves across the scene. Each industry has their own, and the world of home decor is certainly no different. Enter the art of the egg chair…

This year, at this time, it’s the almighty egg chair in all of its glory. Well technically, the crave probably started a few months back but trust me – I’m in quite a few decor groups and people are still on the search for the perfect swing. Especially because you can position most egg chairs inside as well as out, adding more to it’s wicker charm. I initially was going to put it on my balcony, but the inside won and it’s absolutely perfect.

So now, with the passing of summer sun and autumn in full-bloom, while egg chairs may not be on the top of most lists, it’s a great time to make this off-season purchase. Below I’ve listed some of my faves, along with the one I’m currently swinging in inside my cozy apartment living room.

I purchased mine from Amazon 2 months ago and it’s the perfect addition to my eclectic home. The weight limit on mine is 350 lbs… I need that extra security to make me feel safe! Most limits I’ve seen are closer to the 250 lb range so keep that in mind as you are choosing yours. Some are actual swings hanging from a stand, while others are more like pods that sit on 4 legs. If I had the room, I’d purchase a pod as well but again… an apartment. But I’ll include both options below 🙂

When considering the art of the egg chair, you want to ensure you have enough space to comfortably place it and if it will live inside or out. Also take into consideration children and pets, and if it’ll be the right fit for you and your family. And if you’re feeling really snazzy, throw some lights around the rim and make it a whole event.
