Black & White Photo Challenge
So this week, I started seeing black & white photos of my friends and colleagues popping up all over my Instagram and Facebook feeds. “Great,” I was thinking, “another photo challenge.” What was this one for? The causes, although sometimes with good intentions, can also sometimes seem a bit endless. However, I figured I had somehow managed to miss this one because there was no “you have been selected” message in my inbox to politely decline. At least not yet.
Ding!
“I choose you to do the challenge. Among women there are several criticisms. We should take care of each other. We are beautiful the way we are. Post a photo in black and white alone, write ‘challenge accepted’ and mention my name. Identify 50 women to do the same, in private. I chose you because you are beautiful, strong and incredible. Let’s <3 each other!”

Aaaawww 🙂 Ok… I stand corrected. Eat my words. I take it all back. This is actually a super cute challenge! I withdraw all of my snappiness about not wanting to join in a photo challenge. The reason being, this one is all for sisterhood and loveliness and self-confidence and beautifulness so I am absolutely here for it. Absolutely.
And here’s why. The world sucks. At least it can a lot of the time. And there are so many reasons why we, as women, may feel down on ourselves. So a random take-2-seconds-to-love-on-yourself-in-black-and-white is a preatty dope thing. So many of my beautiful friends posting their favorite pics, in black & white, showing their raw gorgeousness for all to see. I am here for it. All the way.
So, if you didn’t receive a personal “you have been selected” message in your inbox this week – consider this my personal invitation to you. And feel free to tag me @lalovelee so I can see and comment! Everyone deserves a little spotlight here and there. So take a moment to celebrate yourself. Ma’am, you deserve it!
