Banter & Bourbon is a collection of spoken word, poetry, and literary loveliness that poet and spoken word artist La Jones has created, performed, and curated across the country since her debut book, When Paper Met Pen, was released in 2000. Since then, she has performed in and hosted countless open mics at places such as the jazz staple Bohemian Caverns on U St. in Washington DC, competed in and won poetry SLAMS at the world-famous Nuyorican Poets Cafe in New York City,  has had her pieces appear twice in Essence magazine, and thrilled audiences young and old at book signings and college tours across the country.
