So this week has been hectic. Really hectic. And I have so many things I want to write about, and I will. But since I’m starting to fall behind in my 30/30 poetry challenge, I’ll drop this haiku right fast and explain more later in another blog post.

It’s finally here! Banter & Bourbon. And when I say finally, I do mean finally! It has been 20 years since I released my first collection of poetry, When Paper Met Pen, in 2000. I remember it clearly – the fresh smell of newly printed pages, flipping through them all and listening to the sound…
And then I was reminded that even though I am still sitting here, frustrated with work and near tears, somebody out there always has it worse. So be thankful for what you have, even if it isn’t all that you want, and be kind to everyone you meet. You never know their struggle. This is for Troy.
